The Cape Breton Crawling Crustacea is a masters swim club based out of Sydney Nova Scotia. Founded in 2005, the club has grown to include over 70 members and now offers six workouts per week from September to June. Crusties range in age from 19 to over 70. Our reasons to swim vary. Some swim just for fitness, some are pure swimmers and compete provincially and nationally. Many of us are focused on triathlons.

swim group 1

Whether you are just learning to swim, have some experience, or are an expert swimmer, you will fit into our group. We have everything from novice triathletes learning to swim a whole length of the pool, to Ironman competitors, to provincial age group record holders. Workouts are coached, with a suggested workout, and the coach on deck to help with your stroke.

Although we don't officially swim through July-Aug-Sept, informal outdoor swim get-togethers are arranged on an ad-hoc basis through these months.

This is not only a good way to improve your swimming, but a great group of people to hang out with. Want to be a Crustie? Contact us about membership. The only prerequisite is enthusiasm and a strong desire to have fun and get fit!
